Whoever was in Gdansk had a chance to bump into them and chat with them. Whoever hasn't been, will have a chance to catch up - at least in terms of their work.
Why do they? Because they've been doing their own thing for years and don't listen to anyone. They take the aesthetics of giallo, spaghetti westerns or poliziottesco and instead of gluing a polite plot together, they prefer audiovisual trippiness, montage madness and a fury of associations. The narrative often recedes into the background here in favor of pure kinetic energy. This is cinema that is felt, not necessarily analyzed over Sunday broth. Some people love it, others leave the cinema after a quarter of an hour. We belong to the former.
And while we're on the subject, we've taken care of the second matter in the process. The wait for next year's festival will be made more pleasant for you by their film, which we are finally bringing to theaters. The SHINE OF DEATH DIAMOND (Laissez bronzer les cadavres), which is sizzle, gold, bullets and a feast of colors all in one, will hit the screens in the fall.
Is it a „visual feast” and a „concentrated dose of style,” as the reviewers write? Sure. Above all, though, it's one hell of a stylish no-holds-barred ride that looks and sounds like nothing else.
